The story behind Lavandula
Our voyage begins in the Spice Garden of India, a journey with twists so luminous that we immediately find ourselves back in the Province of Kerala, rumoured origin of the lavender scent, though the Mediterranean has also been blessed a long history. Indeed, lavender has been synonymous with universal beauty for over 2500 years.
Lavender derives its name from the Latin, Lavare, meaning “to wash”. The Romans used lavender to scent their baths and clothing, and it scented the temple of King Solomon.
Aromatic and enigmatic opening notes are familiar yet unusual. A dazzling sense of altitude recounts the heights at which lavender grows, followed by the citric freshness that is a recurring theme of this voyage.
Bergamot meets the nose before a lasting additional nuance in the form of lilac hyacinth enlivens the route – perhaps Tuscany, where the excellent company of citrus and lavender strike a soft accord?

Our boxes are specially designed to embody the boundless beauty of our product. A stylish selection of calming colours and traditional corrugation techniques provide our boxes with a handmade sensibility. Then to provide an extra touch of luxury, we use heavy paper stock and double-fold each label white onto gold. Our design is synonymous with presence and nobility and also minimises risk of damage when shipping.
